From spooky movie marathons to baking, there are a lot of fall activities you’re looking forward to doing in our Chicago apartments.
While those are fun, you should take this time to get out and see the city, too. With Halloween right around the corner, you’ll be able to fill up your social calendar fast with these scary events in Chi-Town.
1. THE HAUNTED HALLOWEEN BALL
The Haunted Halloween Ball at the Grand Ballroom at Navy Pier has an attendance list of an estimated 3,000 Halloween lovers! If you want to get to know some people in the Chicago area, this is a great event to attend on Halloween weekend (October 28). With 18,000 spacious square feet, the Grand Ballroom is sure to impress with its opulence. There will be DJs, dancing and drinks, so you don’t want to miss it!
2. ARTS IN THE DARK
On Saturday, October 21, Chicago gets scary with Arts in the Dark. This holiday-centric parade, which naturally takes place after dusk, will showcase The Art of Drumming, Aztec Dance Chicago, the Mariachi Ensemble, West Town Bikes riders, After School Matters, the Chicago Merchandise Mart, Broadway In Chicago, The Art Institute, and The Actor’s Gymnasium. Add some culture to your Halloween festivities!
3. NIGHT OF THE 1,000 JACK-O’-LANTERNS
Chicago Botanic Garden proudly presents Night of 1,000 Jack-o’-Lanterns on the last weekend of the month (October 26-29). As the name suggests, there will indeed be 1,000 uniquely carved-up pumpkins, all of which are designed by hand.
4. SPOOKY ZOO SPECTACULAR
The Auxiliary Board of Lincoln Park Zoo will once again have its Spooky Zoo Spectacular on October 28. If you’re planning to celebrate Halloween with family, this is the perfect event. It starts at 10 a.m. and is over at 1 p.m. Be sure to tell the kids to dress up in costume to get plenty of free candy!
