Uptown Chicago is located just a couple miles north of Wrigley Field and is one of the fastest growing neighborhoods in Chicago. Here are some of the attractions you should check out in Uptown with your friends and family:
FUN IN UPTOWN CHICAGO
Graceland Cemetery is not your average cemetery. It was established in 1860 and is the final resting place for several famous Chicagoans including Roger Ebert and Jack Johnson. Surrounded by beautiful trees and a pond, this cemetery is a great place to walk around in on a warm day and be in the presence of a little bit of history.
Montrose Beach is a lot less packed than the city’s famous North Avenue Beach and will provide hours of entertainment for you and your family members. You can sunbathe, swim and participate in water sports. There is also a section of this beach that is designated for dogs. If you have a pooch, take him here to play with all the other dogs. He will have a great time, and you’ll have a tired dog to take home with you.
Aragon Theater started out as a ballroom in 1926 and is now one of the most popular music venues in the city. Whether you enjoy anything from Latin music to hip hop music, you are sure to find a music act you will enjoy here.
The Green Mill
The Green Mill Cocktail Lounge has been in Chicago since the early 1900s, and many famous gangsters used to hang out here. When you come to this lounge, you can listen to smooth jazz, poetry slams and several local bands. It is a great place to relax with your friends and drink a refreshing cocktail.
Argyle Night Market
During the summer, you should definitely stop by the Argyle Night Market. There will be all sorts of farm vendors and food from Argyle Street restaurants and businesses.
If you ever visit Uptown, make sure to check out all of these attractions. You will not be disappointed. Whether you go with friends or by yourself, you will have a great time in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood.
